So my question is… are there any sort of medication that we can take to increase protein synthesis… I know steroids like testosterone etc and hgh can stimulate and increase protein synthesis… but are there like other non steriod medications? For people who is rapidly losing muscle due to disease and such? I have possible Crohn’s disease… Doctors thinks most likely it is… I went from 168 lbs to 145 lbs in 2-3 weeks. I can eat, but not so much.. I am also an avid weight lifter and I still keep going to the gym to try to maintain and keep whatever muscles I have while making sure I’m not in there too long so I don’t start wasting muscle.. Someone at the gym suggested I go see an Endocrinologist, and that he can give me pills to increase my protein synthesis… and its not steroids. Well I tried looking up everywhere I can’t find any types of medications that would do that except for steroids. Any suggestions? Thanks!
